Chester Bennington dead at 41

Chester Bennington of Linkin Park has passed away via suicide at the age of 41. Today also would have been the 53rd birthday for singer Chris Cornell. Both Chris and Chester were great friends with Chester being the godfather to Chris' kids. Unfortunately, Cornell commited suicide 2 months ago right as the new Linkin Park album was coming out. It's tough to say what a person is going through when something like that happens, but its something that we all will struggle with at one point in our lives.

The voice of Chester Bennington and Linkin Park have shaped and helped so many people since they came on the scene in 2000. It was a gateway for many to not only express themselves, but also give comfort that they were not alone in this world. Their songs reached over borders and Chesters' voice helped to bring people together through the sound of music and a common link in feelings that we all go through. Linkin Park has been and will always be one of my favorite bands of all time.

"I'm dancing with my demons." That's how the latest Linkin Park album starts by its lead singer Chester Bennington at the mic. However, its the title song "One More Light" is where we should look for hope in times like these. "If they say who cares if one more light goes out in a sky of a million stars,
It flickers, flickers. Who cares when someone's time runs out If a moment is all we are. We're quicker, quicker. Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do."

RIP Chester Bennington. You will be greatly missed.
