Tidal's new CEO is already gone
Jeff Toig, the most recent CEO of streaming music service Tidal, has left the company. The company has had a troublesome history with CEOs, have three different leaders in its short existence. He took over from Peter Tonstead in January 2016.
The service, famous for being led by a cadre of musicians including rapper Jay Z, seems to be eternally struggling against its major rival Spotify. This departure marks yet another stumbling block for the once promising enterprise.
The hope here is that someone comes in who has the whiz-bang idea that differentiates Tidal from its less pricy brethren. That day has yet to come.
